Tasman Pine Forests employ 15 staff and 22 forestry contractors with over 100 employees.

Communities local to our forests provide the majority of our workforce and as a result, Tasman Pine Forests Limited, as employers, contribute to the economic wellbeing of our communities.

Tasman Pine Forests also provide financial support to the Rescue Helicopter, community and environmental projects and a local sporting team.

Contributions

Recent community contributions include a new rural fire appliance for the Upper Moutere Fire Brigade, donation of logs to the Wakefield Higgins Museum and the Wood Choppers Assn and a contribution to the Brightwater Snowden’s Bush Trust.

totara logs burnt in the Pigeon Valley Fire

Two totara logs burnt in the Pigeon Valley Fire were donated to local iwi for wood carving and a log section was carved into a mortar and donated to the Japanese society for their annual new year rice ceremony celebration.

Environmental projects

Environmental projects include weed control in conservation areas, rare threatened and endangered species protection and contribution to the Teapot Valley native restoration project.
